Congratulations to the high school graduates of Wm. E. Hay in Stettler on their graduation on June 23.

Among the graduates were former Byemoor School students Will Brown, Ryder Buchwitz, Chase Walker and Cade Wilkie. Best wishes to the boys on all their future endeavours.

Will is the son of Doug and Jennifer Brown, Ryder is the son of Kirk and Twila Buchwitz, Chase the son of Lloyd and Jaryl Walker and Cade the son of Byron and Linda Wilkie.

Byemoor 4-H Beef Club held its awards night banquet on June 23 at Byemoor Hall. The Byemoor Hall ladies served up a delicious roast beef dinner. The awards presentation wraps up a very successful year for the Byemoor club.

The members invited the Endmoor Drop-In Centre seniors to the banquet in appreciation of the use of the Drop-in Centre for the club’s meetings.

Remember the first Tailgate Market of the season on Main Street in Byemoor is on Thu, June 29 from 11 a.m. until noon. The markets will run every Thursday until Aug. 31, with the exception of July 6; there will be no market that day.

The 20th annual Wade Buchwitz Memorial Gymkhana is on Sat, July 1 at the Endiang Riding and Roping Club’s outdoor arena in Endiang, beginning at 11 a.m. The day is packed with events and activities and the day will end with fireworks. There is no charge to attend and all are welcome – a great way to celebrate Canada Day.

Remember the Byemoor Landfill Transfer Station is closed on Sat, July 1 for Canada Day but instead will be open on Fri, June 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Schultz family extends an invitation to join them for their 41st annual Pancake Breakfast and Campout weekend from July 14 – 16 at the Schultz farm south of Endiang. There will be fireworks on Saturday evening and on Sunday is the pancake breakfast, Great Endiang Balloon Race and Frisbee Golf tournament, along with camping all weekend. Everyone is welcome.

Brenda Zeimer from Vancouver is spending a couple of weeks in Alberta visiting with family members of the Smith and Stulberg families, as well as other friends. It has been a number of years since Brenda has been home for a visit.

The Endmoor Minor Ball Association teams have been busy with their ball games in recent weeks. It is nice to see so many young teams playing out of Byemoor again.

Happy Canada Day to all. Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend celebrating Canada’s 156th birthday with activities and events of their choice.

Happy 95th Birthday wishes go out to Helene Gutsche celebrating her special day on July 1. Congratulations on your special milestone and best wishes for many more, Helene.
