Donalda Diary: Drive-in movie a big success

Almost 200 people attended the fun drive-in experience

The Willow Canyon Drive In Movie recently, featuring Pixels saw 41 vehicles, or about 175 people take part.

It was a well-attended event. A big thanks go out to all the volunteers who helped with this.

The Donalda Coulee Friendship Club will be holding a Pancake Breakfast and Music Jam on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Drop In Centre. There will be bacon, eggs, sausages, quiche, hash browns, pancakes, orange juice, as well as homemade syrups and coffee.

The Donalda Agricultural Society will be holding their next regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. at the hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.

2017 is election year for municipal governments in Alberta.

Nomination day for candidates is Sept 18. If the number of nominations exceeds the three council positions, an election will be held on Oct. 16.

The last Red Lamp Market of the year will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain or Shine! Located next to the World’s Largest Lamp. Vendors are asked to pre-book with Amanda at 403-741-6095.

The Donalda and District Museum will be hosting a Sunday Turkey Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Drop In Centre. The menu consist of roast turkey, dressing, gravy, dreamy mashed potatoes, buttered carrots, corn, yummy beets, as well as salads, buns, beverages, and desserts.
