Whatever your goals for discovering all there is to know this year, the library is your best resource. Is one of your goals more social interaction? Meet new friends through one of our programs—most are free.

Enjoy an Author Talk by Lacombe writer Warren Kreway, on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. He’ll be discussing his book Wolf-Dog: Walking with God’s Children, chronicling his experiences working with youth at home and abroad.

With all the warnings about identity theft and internet scams, take action against online threats at Lunch and Learn: Cybersecurity Cafe, on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at noon. Bring your lunch or a snack and get practical tips to defend yourself online. Ages 18 and up.

Our dry, harsh Alberta winters can cause all sorts of skin woes. Learn how to keep your skin supple and radiant this winter with Dixie’s Winter Skin Care Tips, taking place Friday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m. Ages 13+.

Join Felicity Weymer for an immersive drum-making workshop on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m. There’s a fee of $225 with a $100 non-refundable deposit due on registration.

Plan ahead for the inevitable with our workshop, Caring Beyond, on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Verna Rock will answer all your questions about pre-planning your funeral to ensure peace of mind for you and those you’ll leave behind.

Children:

Can’t get enough of those plastic bricks? Join with other Lego lovers on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. for Lego Club.

Something Cool After School is for kids aged six and up, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m. On Thursday, Jan. 11, make a cool CD spinning top.

Blow Painting—you can’t blow it with this kind of artwork on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Who ever heard of Hot Ice? Join us when we experiment with the impossible, Thursday, Jan. 18, 4 p.m.

For the littlest ones (0-5 yrs), we have Read and Rhyme with songs, stories, and other fun activities on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10:30 a.m. If you track your reading to them using the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten free app, we’ll reward you with small prizes whenever you reach your milestones.

Teens and ’Tweens:

Get your inner artist on when we create with canvas, paint, and thread Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 4:30 p.m. Ages 10 and up.

Adults:

Create a stunning mandala-style wall hanging with Crystal’s Crafting Club, on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 6:30 p.m. Please pre-register

Improve flexibility and balance, and reduce stress with Gentle Yoga for seniors with Alicia Tate, on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 10:30 a.m. The Handibus is free for this program. Call 403-742-5858 to request pickup.

Find out what you can create with a blob of paint on canvas alongside the Afternoon Friends, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 1-3 p.m. For adults who enjoy activities with other adults in a social setting at an easy pace.

Relax on Zoom in the comfort of your home with Yoga Nidra, on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. Call us for the Zoom link.

Pick up a copy of the graphic novel, Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands by Kate Beaton, then join the Reader’s Circle to meet with like-minded friends and discuss the book on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 6:30 p.m.

All Ages:

Bring the whole family for Tales at 11 where we’ll enjoy story time and a related craft Saturdays at 11 a.m.

Forge legends and embark on epic quests at our Dungeons & Dragons Game Night with Jasper, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 5:30 p.m. Age 13+. Come for the adventure, stay for the snacks.
