ALERT: Police need public’s help

RCMP want assistance in finding a stolen truck and trailer plus locating a missing person

Police in the region are hoping the public can provide some help in tracking down a person as well as a stolen truck and trailer.

RCMP from Wetaskiwin issued a call late on Aug. 17 in locating the whereabouts of a 37-year-old women from Maskwacis, who has not been heard from in close to a month and was last since in Wetaskiwin on July 23.

Ricky Tiara Buffalo is described as Aboriginal, standing five foot four inches with a medium build, brown hair and eyes, a light brown complexion and a scar on the left side of her face.

Family, friends and the RCMP are concerned for Buffalo’s well-being and state it is unusual for her to be out of contact for this amount of time.

Anyone if information or if anyone has seen Buffalo between now and July 23, they are urged to contact the Wetaskiwin RCMP at (780) 312-7200.

Stolen truck

Meanwhile, also on Aug. 17, Ponoka RCMP were notified of a truck and trailer having been stolen from the parking lot at VJV Auction Mart at Highway 2A and 53.

It isn’t known what time the vehicle was taken or which direction it may have gone.

The truck is described as a white 2006 Ford F350 with Morsan Farms Ltd. on the door panels, while a 2015 24 foot Wilson gooseneck trailer was connected to the unit.

Anyone who may have seen the vehicle that day and can provide a location or direction of travel is asked to call the Ponoka RCMP at (403) 783-4472.
