Just before 7 p.m. on Sept. 12, a lone armed man entered the Alix Hotel bar with a long barrelled firearm.

The suspect pointed the firearm at patrons as well as a hotel worker, then demanded cash from the register plus the VLTs. After he took the cash, the man fled through the front and seen getting into a dark coloured SUV driven by an unidentified man. The vehicle left the area headed east.

No one in the bar was injured and a licence plate that was provided was determined to be stolen. RCMP members from both Bashaw and Stettler were unable to locate the vehicle.

The suspect is described as Caucasian with a thin build, about six feet tall and was wearing dark shoes with white soles, a dark coloured hoodie with a white design on the left side, a dark coloured hat with a design on the front, black sunglasses, dark gloves plus a white and dark coloured bandana over his face.
