Check off the first day of December.

That’s the date set for the annual Parade of Lights Christmas celebration being hosted by the Bashaw and District Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber president Dustin Hemingson explained the evening event will remain much like it has the past couple of years.

“The day will essentially be the same format — with the parade kicking off at 5 p.m., following the same route downtown as the past two years and a fun filled day of families activities, including photos with Santa Claus during the afternoon.”

And the lead-up to that day will once again include Bashaw Bucks, though Hemingson stated the full details of this year’s program have yet to be ironed out.

“The program is still in the process of being finalized and everything should be completed at our meeting on Sept. 26,” he added.

Security

Businesses in Bashaw will have the opportunity to learn more about security options during the Chamber-sponsored Small Business Week seminar on Oct. 17 at the Majestic Theatre.

Levi Wynnyk, owner of Total Control Security from Sylvan Lake, will speak on the subject of keeping an overall business safe and providing a deterrent to criminals.

Hemingson also noted that Bashaw RCMP Sgt. Bruce Holliday as well as representation from Servus Credit Union are tentatively scheduled to speak on other security topics at the seminar.

More information about these events and how to participate is available by contacting the Chamber through www.enjoybashaw.com.
