The Bashaw Community Theatre has announced it will join in a global event celebrating local theatre, with a new musical revue production. Performances will take place on Nov. 12 and 13, 2021.

The hometown theatre group will be putting on its own local production of Music Theatre International’s All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre.

The revue — a series of choreographed songs from a variety of Broadway musicals — includes songs from Rent, Les Misérables, Into the Woods, Matilda, Hairspray, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Little Shop of Horrors, Mamma Mia! and many more.

Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) created this revue for theatres across the globe to use as a local fundraising event performed over the same weekend of Nov. 12, 2021.

“MTI’s All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians,” said MTI’s president and CEO, Drew Cohen, in a press release.

“The revue features songs from the world’s most iconic musicals, so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy.

“Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre.”

Bashaw Community Theatre director Lori Miller says the theatre group is excited to celebrate the return of live theatre with this production.

“The past year has been a challenging time for everyone, particularly arts organizations. We look forward to welcoming our patrons back with this truly wonderful revue,” said Miller in the release.

The Bashaw Community Theatre will be implementing the restrictions exemption program in order to go ahead with the show, considering current COVID-19 restrictions.

One of the three performances will be live streamed for those who are unvaccinated or otherwise unable to attend a performance in person.

The Bashaw Community Theatre performs at the Bashaw United Church, located at 5036 52 Ave.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.bashawtheatre.com or in person at the Bashaw Community Resource Centre. Tickets are $20 each.
