Ponoka RCMP are looking for Blair Hinkley in relation to an alleged assault on a woman.

UPDATE: RCMP have confirmed that Blair Hinkley was arrested on a warrant in Wetaskiwin. No information yet on court dates.

Ponoka RCMP investigators are looking for the whereabouts of Ponoka County resident Blair Hinkley in connection with an alleged assault on a woman.

Police say the incident occurred June 8 after receiving a complaint of assault.

Hinkley, 44, has left the area and is believed to be evading police, say investigators. A warrant for the arrest of Blair Hinkley in the public interest has been issued.

On the afternoon of June 16 witnesses state RCMP cruisers could be seen at the Hinkley property north of Ponoka.

The RCMP cautions members of the public not to approach Hinkley if seen but instead, the police should be called immediately.
