Police are once again searching for a suspect in a robbery from the Alix Hotel.

Just before 1 p.m. on Nov. 6, a lone Caucasian male entered the hotel bar with what appeared to be a sawed off firearm and demanded money. He pointed the firearm at both a hotel worker and patrons inside the bar, before fleeing with cash taken from both the cash register and the VLT’s.

The suspect, who was wearing a mask and described as six feet tall while wearing dark blue coveralls with a reflective strip, left through the hotel’s front door before getting into a regular cab white Chevrolet pick-up truck.

Attempts by RCMP from three detachments to locate the getaway vehicle or the suspect have so far been unsuccessful. No one was injured in this incident.

This is the second time in recent weeks that a robbery has taken place at the hotel bar. Back on Sept. 12, am armed male suspect entered the bar and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash. A suspect in this crime has yet to be identified.

Anyone with information on this latest crime or the previous robbery are asked to call the Bashaw RCMP at (780) 372-3793 or, if they wish to remain anonymous, contact CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
