It seems that improving an aging infrastructure network tops the list of priorities for Bashaw residents.

The latest Bashaw Star poll — which asked What should be the Town of Bashaw’s top budget priority? — showed the majority of the 33 respondents want town council to focus on basic infrastructure needs in 2018.

A total of 46 per cent (15 votes) indicated that work on roads, sewer and water utilities were their most important spending priority with the other suggestions behind.

Next on the list at 21 per cent (seven votes) was maintaining the current tax rates, while improving recreational facilities garnered 18 per cent (six votes) and ‘other’ netted 15 per cent (five votes).

Only two comments were left regarding suggestions for the ‘other’ category — with Dave Lumir stating street lights would be one thing that is needed, while Clayton Zimmer noted that a dog run would be great to have in the community.
