As is the case with many fundraisers, the show must go on.

And for Bashaw Victims Services (BVS), the snow and cold temperatures may have put a damper on attendance at their first ever golf tournament fundraiser, although the event was still deemed a success.

Krista Dubitz with BVS explained the day was actually a lot of fun for those that still made the effort to come out despite the rain and chill in the air.

“Things went really good actually. Our numbers dwindled as the weather went down hill,” she said.

“But, even with that happening, the golfers and volunteers that still made it out supported the fundraiser whole-heartedly and made it a huge success.”

Additionally, due to the amount of donations and support from both area businesses and the Bashaw community, Dubitz noted the event was one of the most successful the non-profit has experienced.

“The feedback we received was how much fun it was in spite of the weather. It was a lot of fun and a great way to raise much needed funds, which go directly into our Victim Services unit to help with daily operations,” she added.

“And, working with the staff at the Bashaw Golf and Country Club was a pleasure. Their support and donations went above and beyond as well.”
