Greener landscape: (L-R) Rick Burden of Fortis Alberta presents Bashaw deputy mayor Rosella Peterman and Mayor Penny Shantz with the $2,500 Fortis Tree Grant. The grant is part of Fortis’ Community Investment Program, which focuses on giving back to communities the company serves and where their employees work and live in order to help build stronger, more sustainable communities for the future. The money will assist in planting trees in the boulevard of 51 A Street as part of the town and Bashaw Beautification Committee’s landscape plan. Photo submitted
