The chill in the air and the first snow falls of the year also means Christmas is right around the corner and Bashaw is ready to launch the holiday season.

Humbug Bazaar

The fifth annual Humbug Bazaar, a popular month-long pop-up Christmas market, will open Nov. 25 and run until Dec. 17.

Find all you need for the festive season from home decor, artwork, ornaments and unique stocking stuffers, all handmade by local crafters.

There are a few new vendors this year, offering their one-of-a-kind merchandise, said organizer Moira Gates, adding there are no retailers at the market - just crafted, artisan goods.

The market brings together local area crafters together from Bashaw, Ferintosh, Edberg, and Ponoka.

The market will be open everyday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Meeting Place Coffee Roasters, located at 4813 50 St., Bashaw.

You can give the gift of belonging by purchasing a ticket for a child or family and help spread some Christmas cheer.

Light-up Camrose County

In the county, tour around to see amazing Christmas light displays and recommend the best overall community display for a hamlet, village or subdivision.

The program runs Dec. 5 to 22. All residents, businesses and non-profits are invited to participate.

Email you address to the county by Nov. 30, to have your display included on the tour map.

You can also email a photo of your display by Dec. 5 for people to vote on it on Facebook.

You can vote on your favourite display on the Camrose County Facebook page.

Three of the most festive displays will be awarded on Dec. 23, with gift baskets. Yard signs will also be placed on the wining properties.
