A new family physician, Dr. Ifeoma Ezeude is now working in Sylvan Lake.

Dr. Ezeude will be working out of the Sylvan Family Health Centre and the Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service.

Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors and MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake Devin Dreeshen said it is a pleasure to announce the addition of Dr. Ezeude to the Sylvan Lake and Central Zone medical team to help care for local residents.

“Her skills and experience will be an excellent addition to our community and the region.”

Dr. Ezeude’s arrival means there are now 17 physicians practising in Sylvan Lake.

“I look forward to serving and contributing to the community,” she said.

Dr. Ezeude received her medical training in Nigeria.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is continuing to recruit physicians across its Central Zone to meet community needs.

The physician resource planners at AHS are dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities.

The physician resource planners also work closely with community partners and organizations, such as local Health Advisory Councils, the Rural Health Professions Action Plan, and independent physician recruitment and retention committees.
