Battle River School Division set to welcome students for 2023-24 year

A new school year is just around the corner, and when the students in Battle River School Division return to the classroom it will be under the leadership of a new superintendent.

Rhae-Ann Holoien says she is “honoured to begin her leadership role with BSRD” and looking forward to the achievements expected in the school throughout the 2023-34 school year.

“As we step into the new school year, I’m brimming with enthusiasm and optimism for what lies ahead,” said Holoien, superintendent of schools, in a media release.

“The start of this academic journey provides many opportunities, where ‘Every Student, Every Day, a Success’ is not just our vision, but a guiding principle. This vision will drive us to foster growth, inspire learning, and celebrate the achievements of each and every student.”

The release continues that BRSD the fresh start of a new school year is setting the stage for “an exciting journey” during the upcoming school year.

Staff division-wide are back in the classroom on Aug. 29 for a learning day, the first such day together celebrating the start of the new school year in “many years.”

Students will begin returning to schools across the division beginning on Sept. 5.

“While heading back into the classrooms, there is a mix of excitement and nerves. Our incredible teachers and staff members are here to guide and inspire as we embark on this journey of learning and growth together,” concludes the release.
