Red Deer Polytechnic and FortisAlberta will continue to advance sustainable energy solutions for at least the next five years.

The two organizations reaffirmed their commitment, signing a Memorandum of Understanding this week.

“When I reflect on RDP’s 2030 Strategic Plan, the Green Campus Plan and other impressive goals they have set for themselves, it is apparent that our organizations are deeply aligned in both affecting change and managing change for a better future,” said Janine Sullivan, President and CEO of FortisAlberta.

RDP president Stuart Cullum said the agreement is beneficial for both organizations.

“This renewed agreement between RDP and FortisAlberta extends our collaborative efforts to innovate within the energy sector. Our joint initiatives are set to enhance our campus as a living lab, where new sustainable technologies not only take shape but also lead to practical applications in our communities,” Cullum said.

According to a release, the agreement shows the commitment of both institutions to push the boundaries of energy innovation and to support energy innovation applied research.

This renewed MOU underscores Red Deer Polytechnic’s leadership in applied research and education, dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint and enhancing its learning environment through innovative and practical solutions.
