The Bashaw Meadows Spring Tea was well attended by family, friends, staff and the community of Bashaw.

Folks were very interested in seeing what the residents have been busy making over the winter months and all the donated silent auction items.

The fundraiser was held May 4 at Bashaw Meadows and the proceeds are necessary to support the continuation of leisure and recreational programming at the facility for the residents.

“Getting the folks involved empowers them. It’s simply wonderful to see the residents interact and create a number of craft items,” said Bashaw Meadows activity coordinator Iris Buchaski.

“This year the residents planted tomatoes and flowers from seed. The folks were so impressed and happy to see how the plants grew over the winter months.”

She added the residents thoroughly enjoyed making the various indoor and outdoor decor for the silent auction and toonie table. They are also very grateful for the community’s generosity through donations and supporting the fundraiser.
