Coun. Lynn Shultz reported to council during their regular meeting on Sept. 16 that she had attended the Bashaw Ag Society’s meeting on Sept. 8.
The society’s activities are minimal at this time and they are preparing for RV storage, which will start on Oct. 17. No propane tanks will be allowed.
The Ag society would like to do work on the bleachers and inside of the track, but are uncertain about operations with the ongoing effects of COVID-19.
Federal Gas Tax
Discussion continued on the options for projects council could fund through the Federal Gas Tax, and are considering water meters, arena board replacement and an assessment on the arena’s posts and beams.
At this time, administration says funding agreements are still in place.
Council requested administration and public works to obtain pricing for each possible project.
Library board
Terri Brown-Gust, Margaret Young, Maypu Mann, JoAnne Schoff, Lezley Lischynski, Jackie Northey, Kayla Plamondon, Rob McDonald, Virginia Beaver, and Bryan Gust were appointed to the library board.
Arena rehabilitation
Council voted to apply for Municipal Stimulus funding to renovate the arena maintenance room.
