The Bashaw Art Club hosted its annual show and sale on May 5.

This year, the club was featuring artist Laurie Hall.

Hall, a member of the club for the last nine years has served as president of the club for the last four.

Getting involved with the organization “for the love of art,” Hall says that the show featured all original work, which had never before been shown.

In addition to her painting, Hall has also illustrated a children’s book with long-time area pastor Robin King.

“I studied commercial art in Red Deer in 1978,” said Hall, noting that for her art has been a lifelong pursuit.

The Bashaw Art Club currently has around 15 members, who meet every Tuesday morning.

In addition to the annual show and sale, which takes place at the Happy Gang Centre, the club also hosts art retreats in the spring and summer and an “Art in the Yard” outdoor show during Hometown Days at the community’s Majestic Theatre.

The annual sale ran from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
