The Bashaw Bucks are flowing while a date for the parade and Santa Day have been set.
Details of both programs were hammered out during the Bashaw and District Chamber of Commerce meeting on Nov. 8 at Meeting Place Coffee Roasters.
A total of 14 businesses confirmed their Bashaw Bucks participation with several others hoping to be made official soon. The program will once again see shoppers have cards stamped at participating businesses, with one stamp for every $10 (before taxes), with a limit of four cards per transaction. Filled cards will also be eligible for the weekly $100 draws and the special prize draw that goes Dec. 16.
Chamber president Dustin Hemingson is pleased that many of the businesses that have taken part in previous years, along with some new ones, are helping to grow the ‘shop local’ program.
He added that while some of these businesses are Chamber members, some are not and that hopefully those particular businesses will be able to see the benefits of being a member through being a part of this program.
More information on the businesses taking part and the full rules can be found by going to the Chamber website at www.enjoybashaw.com or to their Facebook page.
Mark Dec. 2 on the calendar and get the kids ready as that’s the date for the Chamber-sponsored annual Santa Day/Parade of Lights. The parade will follow the same route as last year and will begin at 5 p.m.
Family fun winter activities are once again being planned with the kids Christmas Passport slated to be one part of the day’s events. The meet, greet and photos with Santa is being scheduled along with the Letters to Santa station in the midst of being organized, as are a number of other events.
