Bashaw town council candidate Cindy Orom

In 2017 my husband and I made the move from Beaumont to the beautiful town of Bashaw; a home to raise our children Austin and Skylar and become the owner/operators of Bashaw Farm & Building Supplies Ltd. Bashaw has always been home for Shaun and we knew that living here would be the ideal place for the visions we have for our family.

With my background in human resource management in the oil and gas industry, I do recognize an overlap of policy and procedure with governance and bylaws that I believe will support my success in the role of town councillor.

Upon relocating to Bashaw, I heavily immersed myself in multiple events in an organizer role as well as volunteer capacity and I have thrived on being so connected to our community. I have felt the support of the citizens of Bashaw turning inward; thinking locally and I relish the opportunity to give back to the citizens of Bashaw that have supported us by being a voice and representing those that believe in what I stand for.

Opportunities for success that I am passionate about and wish to achieve are sustainable growth, fiscal efficiency and open and transparent communication. Bashaw is growing! As a whole we need to keep the momentum going to ensure that we have a framework that will lend itself to a path of responsible growth and structure. Continuously searching for innovative opportunities and utilizing our internal community connections will aid in carrying this through.

As a business owner, fiscal efficiency is key. Regular reviews of how our funds are being allocated as well as asking questions regarding how our tax payer dollars are being allocated is crucial. How our funds are spent will help safeguard us as we strive to continue to operate debt free. Exploring potential for new revenue streams will become more imperative as our town continues on a path of success.

As a parent and business owner, I believe it is important that information about current events is available. With continuously evolving technology the methods in which we receive information is key. I believe a transparent council wins the trust of our citizens. There are endless ways in which we can refresh the platforms that our community receives information.

If you are interested in conversing more about my vision relating to opportunities for success, please reach out. I am eager to connect with you.
