I am Shelley Boileau. I am married with three children and two grandchildren. I grew up in the Town of Lacombe (now city) and graduated from LCHS.

After being in town for two years, going down to the local coffee shop and speaking with the town residents, I realized that a large portion of taxpayers’ money was being spent on other companies from other towns and not staying in 0ur community.

Being raised in a small town, I know that unless you support the community it will not prosper.

I have decided that I wanted to run for council because I love this small community. I want it to prosper and feel with change we can make the economy better here. Encouraging businesses to come here. Encouraging people to spend in town, and work on keeping our tax dollars here instead of leaving with the tail lights.

If elected my goals are:

- Town council transparency: Where is our tax dollars being spent?

- Accountability: Are we spending our money wisely?

- To build the economy: by working with the businesses in town to support what we have here.

- To open town tenders to local businesses.

- To draw in new business: What can we do to make it more appealing to have new businesses come to our great town?

- To vote for you, the taxpayers, not for what I want: Tell me what you think so when important things need to be voted on I can make an educated decision. I am not voting for what I want. As a councillor, it is my job to vote for what the people want (keeping in mind it takes majority to win a vote).

- Acknowledge that there are more than brick and mortar businesses in this town. We have many businesses that are run out of people’s homes, contract companies, electricians, plumbers, mechanics, and various other services. Every business contributes to the economy and cannot be forgotten in the big picture.

I am not a politician. I am a local small town girl who Helps when she sees others in need, knows what it is like to support local, and wants to know where my tax payers money is going to just like everyone else.

A vote for me is a vote for you, the taxpayer.
