Bashaw and District Chamber of Commerce members discussed a number of topics at their meeting on May 5, including Razzle Dazzle Day.

Traditionally held in June, it was suggested that the chamber postpone the event and try to hold it in September or the fall, as public health restrictions leave a lot of uncertainty.

The chamber is asking anyone who would like to be on the organization committee to contact the chamber at bashawcc@gmail.com.

Helping businesses

Yvonne King presented an idea to help out the community by placing picnic tables in grassed lots like what is in front of Majestic Theatre so that people can eat outside while visiting Bashaw to help support the Restaurants in town.

Another idea presented was starting a shop local program similar to the Bashaw Christmas bucks to promote shopping local.

If you are interested in helping out with either initiative, contact the chamber.

Shop local bags

The chamber is looking into the cost of ordering reusable shopping bags with logos added of local businesses.

The cost depends on how many bags are ordered, so interested businesses should contact the chamber and let them know how many they’d like to hand out to their customers. Specific colours can be printed.

Celebrating Bashaw’s Best

If you’d like to be highlighted on the community Facebook page, fill out the form and return it to Jackie Northey.

MLA videos

If you would like to have your business featured in a social media video with MLA Jackie Lovely, email the chamber.

Next meeting

The June chamber meeting will be on June 2, at a new time, 7 p.m.
