Battle River Watershed Alliance board has new Castor connection

The board overseeing the Battle River Watershed Alliance (BWRA) now has a Castor connection.

In a release earlier in August, the BRWA announced that Marilyn Weber would be joining the board of directors as a health representative.

Weber is no stranger to the Castor area; with over four decades of experience in health care, including front-line nursing and mental health care, Weber brings “experience and appreciation to her volunteer work.”

In addition to her work with the BRWA, Weber volunteers with a Classroom Ag. program and sits on a Paintearth County agriculture committee.

When not volunteering Weber can be found on the family farm, with her husband Dennis, where they run a mixed cattle and grain operation with their youngest son and his family.

As the opportunity arises, Weber also enjoys hiking along Castor Creek, which is a tributary of the Battle River that runs through Castor.

The BRWA is currently recruiting more directors; check out battleriverwatershed.ca for more information.
