Two of the province’s top performing cattle producers showed off their bulls last week and everyone was pleased with the outcome.
K3 Ranch and Reich Angus Ranch sold off 36 of their two-year old bulls at the Calnash Ag Event Centre on March 20 for prices that left everyone with smiles. The Bashaw area ranches are well known across North America, as witnessed at the sale by attracting buyers from Nebraska.
“We were super happy with how the sale went. There were a lot of people that came out. You couldn’t have asked for anything better as well as the weather,” said Kolton Kasur, owner of K3 Ranch with his wife Bailey while Kolton’s parents operate Reich Angus Ranch.
“We simply try to raise the best bulls we can and hope that the people like what they see.’
As for what the 36 bulls fetched, Kolton explained they didn’t come into the sale expecting any particular amounts on any of those that were being sold.
“Did it surprise us, I don’t really know since the bulls are only worth as much as what the buyers are willing to put up and just how much they are interested in certain animals,” he stated.
“Our focus is really on providing quality and that’s what I hope the people will always want.”
