Camrose man arrested in Strathcona County with ammunition, drugs

After being released on conditions less than a week before, a Camrose resident was arrested in Strathcona County for drug trafficking.

After being released on conditions less than a week before, a Camrose resident was arrested in Strathcona County for drug trafficking.

On Jan. 20, Christopher Coates, 37, was arrested following a stop for a traffic violation on Highway 16 in Sherwood Park.

Upon a search of the vehicle, police located Canadian currency, 60 rounds of ammunition and what is believed to be 288.18 grams of methamphetamine 8.18 grams of cocaine and 8.16 grams of crack cocaine. The vehicle was then towed.

Coates was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with conditions.

He was released from custody following a Judicial Interim Release hearing and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Feb. 22.
