Camrose MLA Jackie Lovely was recently appointed as the chair of the Government of Alberta’s Economic Diversification Committee.
“It’s an incredible honour,” said Lovely. “Our team is ready to get to work delivering the promises we made to Albertans during the election. I am looking forward to the next four years and to working alongside my colleagues.
Lovely said the United Conservative Party’s new cabinet includes a mix of experienced and new ministers.
“As a diverse team, these ministers will govern for all Albertans and work to ensure Alberta realizes its full potential,” she said.
“This cabinet will work collaboratively to accomplish the work that Albertans voted for, including continuing to grow and diversify the economy, keeping life affordable, reforming the health care system, tackling crime, providing help for those struggling, and defending Alberta’s interests.”
Cabinet members were sworn in on June 9.
The new cabinet has 25 members, a decrease from the previous 27.
Premier Danielle Smith also named her new caucus leadership team, treasury board members, and cabinet policy committee chairs on June 9.
“The next four years start today and I can’t wait to get back to work with each of my cabinet colleagues,” said Smith.
