Camrose MLA’s rodeo bill gets second reading

Rodeo and chuckwagon racing could soon be the official sport of Alberta

Rodeo and Chuckwagon Racing is one step closer to becoming the official sport of Alberta.

Camrose MLA Jackie Lovely’s Bill 205 to make rodeo and chuckwagon racing the official sport of Alberta had its second reading at the legislative assembly on March 13.

According to Lovely, a large cross-section of the rodeo community attended the reading at the Legislative Assembly.

Premier Danielle Smith along with Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Nate Horner and Lovely joined representatives from the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association, Alberta High School Rodeo Association, and Alberta Pony Chuckwagon Association among others to show their support for the bill.
