An addiction treatment centre in central Alberta is dealing with 18 active COVID-19 cases.
Alberta Health said the outbreak is happening at iRecover Treatment Centre in Tees.
Elsewhere in the region, seven active cases were reported at Bowden Institution.
Two inmates tested positive on April 18 during this latest outbreak at the Bowden federal prison. During a January outbreak, two inmates tested positive.
At Drumheller Institution, where an outbreak was declared in December, there are still three active cases at the prison, and another 181 people have recovered from the virus.
At Red Deer’s Olymel, 524 people have recovered from the outbreak at the pork processing plant that began in January. Only two active cases remain.
In Lacombe, the Royal Oak Village has three active COVID-19 cases, and Lacombe Pentecostal Church has one active case and 17 people have recovered in connection to the outbreak at that church.
At Sundial Growers in Olds, there are two active cases and 10 people have recovered.
Note: Numbers will have changed since the story was first written. As of April 29, there were zero active cases at the Drumheller Institution.
