A process for dispursing any extra revenue generated by the town’s flush truck agreement with Bawlf and Rosalind has been finalized.

At council’s meeting Feb. 20, it was determined to have additional revenue from use of the truck by municipalities not part of the agreement should be first put toward paying off the shared costs of repairs and wages. Only Coun. Lynn Schultz didn’t vote as he was out of town.

If the excess revenue covers that amount, then it would be applied to the cost of insurance and certification which is split evenly between the three municipalities.

Coun. Rob McDonald was of the view that this would be the best option, as usage of the truck by non-members typically incurs the most repairs.

CAO Theresa Fuller did explain doing it this way may well benefit the member who uses the truck the most, as those expenses are divided up based on a percentage of use by the members.

She also updated council that one of the three municipalities that had indicated interest in joining the agreement, Clive, has declined to participate at this time.

New bylaw

Council approved an amendment to their master rates and schedule bylaw that formally adopts the change to the water rates passed at their Feb. 8 meeting. All three readings of the bylaw was unanimously approved at the meeting.

Previously, these changes were approved through a lone motion of council. However, Fuller has found out the ideal way is to pass a bylaw whenever the water price is updated.
