Bashaw RCMP assisted in arresting a prisoner that was at large.

Officers were on hand on April 1 around 1 p.m. helping members of the Stettler RCMP, Stettler Integrated Traffic and Red Deer police dog services at a rural residence along Secondary Hwy. 601 in Stettler County as they executed an arrest warrant for Ernest Bedore, who was unlawfully at large.

Police located a stolen truck being driven on the property, which the drive revved several times before reversing and crashing into another vehicle that was parked before being abandoned.

Eventually, Bedore was taken into custody inside the home and was transported to the Drumheller Penitentiary until his court appearance on June 24.

Two others were also arrested at the home on outstanding warrants for Seg Landry and Noelle Pedersen.

Landry was later released to appear in court in Innisfail, while Pedersen was released on 12 outstanding charges dating back to 2016 and is set to appear in Stettler Provincial Court June 25.

Highway traffic in the area was diverted onto local roads while the investigation was completed.
