A number of family-friendly, holiday-themed events are happening in Bashaw in the next little while to kick off the Christmas season.

Festival of Trees

Bashaw is holding a Festival of Trees from Dec. 3 to 5 at the Bashaw Ag Grounds. Admission will be by donation.

Trees will be auctioned off online and in-person. Winners will be announced on Dec. 5 at 4 p.m.

Pickup will be at the ag grounds from 4:15 to 5 p.m.

Times are: Dec. 3, 4 to 8 p.m.; Dec. 4, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Dec. 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parade of Lights

There will also be a Parade of Lights on Dec. 4, starting at 4 p.m. The parade route will be the same one that was used for Hometown Days. Contact Bashaw and District Chamber of Commerce to register.

Walk with Santa

Do you like to sing Christmas Carols? Join Bashaw and District Support Services’ (BDSS) Walk with Santa.

Practices are on Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and 13 at Bashaw United Church. The Walk with Santa will be held closer to Christmas and the date is to-be-announced.

Angels Among Us

BDSS is inviting residents to create art with an angel theme. The idea was inspired by the angel wings painted by Kyle Simmers on the corner of the United Church.

Drop off your artwork to BDSS or send a digital version to risingspiritministry@gmail.com, or post to the Angels Among Us Facebook or Instagram pages, anytime after Dec. 1., with your contact information.

Entries will be put up on the Angels Among Us display near the front door of the United Church.

On Dec. 20, a draw will be held and four winners will receive a $25 gift card.
