Rimbey residents face drug and weapon charges

Rimbey RCMP and the Wetaskiwin Crime Reduction Unit team up to make arrests

Rimbey, Alberta – The RCMP in Rimbey identified some target offenders to the Wetaskiwin Crime Reduction Unit who were conducting patrols in Rimbey as part of their ongoing crime reduction strategy.

On August 2, a male and female were arrested after being observed to conduct activities that were consistent with drug trafficking activity. Following their arrest, a subsequent search of their vehicle yielded a quantity of drugs and cash.

28-year-old Todd Orrin Adams, of Rimbey has been charged with two offences under the Criminal Code, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 as well as a two offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.

49-year-old Alicia Janine Pastuck, of Rimbey has also been charged with two offences under the Criminal Code, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 as well as one offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

Adams has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Rimbey on September 7, 2018 via CCTV.

Pastuck has been released on a Recognizance to appear in person in Rimbey on September 7, 2018.
