Editor’s note: this story was updated to include the disposition of charges against Bogner and Read.
After working its way through the courts, Matthew Bogner’s case ultimately had four of the five charges he faced withdrawn.
The sole charge he faced was possession, for which he was sentenced to a $1,000 fine in the August of 2018.
Randy Read, who was arrested at the same time as Bogner, failed to appear for his initial court date in 2018 and currently has a Canada-wide arrest warrant out stemming from these charges.

The following matters were heard in Stettler provincial court before Judge. W.A. Skinner Dec. 13:
• Cody Ian Jensen appeared via CCTV from Red Deer Remand Centre. He is charged with theft of a vehicle from the Byemoor area, driving while disqualified, two counts of failing to comply with conditions and four counts of breach of conditions. He reappears Jan. 10 for a bail hearing, to enter a plea and elect how he wants to be tried.
• Jyles Uschenko appeared via CCTV from Red Deer Remand Centre. He is charged with an indecent act, interfering with police, failing to comply with conditions, breach of conditions, two counts of theft under $5,000 and two counts of trespassing at night.
Uschenko appears in Red Deer provincial court Dec. 19 to elect how he wants to be tried.
• Bradley Leon Newton appeared via CCTV from Red Deer Remand Centre. Crown reserved election on how he is proceeding on the charges against Newton, whether by way of indictable offence or summary conviction. Newton is charged with pointing a firearm, assault causing bodily harm, careless use of a firearm and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
The court heard that Newton turned himself into Stettler RCMP Nov. 26 and has been in custody since.
Newton was granted bail and ordered to surrender all firearms. He reappears Jan. 10 for crown election.

• Danelle C. Klettke, charged with two counts of assault, will reappear Jan. 10, 2019, to enter a plea.
• A man charged with sexual assault had a 150-minute trial set for March 18 at 10 a.m. His name can’t be published in accordance with a court-ordered ban on publication.
• Brooker Thomas Blundon is charged with two counts of aggravated assault breach of conditions. He reappears Jan. 10, 2019, to enter a plea and elect how he wants to be tried.
• Matthew G. Bogner reappears Jan. 10 to set a trial date. He is charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and producing a controlled substance.
• Jordan B. Schilling reappears Jan. 10 to enter a plea and elect how he wants to be tried. He is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, disobeying a court order, failing to appear in court, failing to comply with conditions, mischief to property, and two counts of break and enter not a dwelling.
• Justin James Schilling reappears Feb. 14. Judge Skinner said Schilling will be required to enter a plea that day. Schilling made his ninth court appearance asking the matter to be set over and not entering a plea. He is charged with possession of stolen property, three counts of breach of probation, failing to comply with conditions and two counts of failing to appear in court.
• Jordan Earl Cronk reappears Jan. 10 to enter a plea. He is charged with three counts of threats to cause death, assault, mischief, damage, dangerous driving and failing to hold a valid drivers license.
• Bradley Franklin Boice pleaded not guilty to three counts of uttering threats and one count of failing to comply with conditions. A trial is set for March 14 at 1:30 p.m.
• Kyle Jacob Grams pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of stolen property. He reappears Jan. 10 to set a trial date.
• Bradley Wayne Grover reappears Jan. 10 on charges of assault.
• Crown Shawn Frank said he was only asking the court to give a youth, whose name can’t be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, a verbal reprimand. The youth was with another individual when the two followed a tow truck on Dec. 21, 2017 that was towing a vehicle to a yard in Stettler and then climb the fence to enter the tow yard. Judge W.A. Skinner told the youth that act is break and enter. “You were party to the offence,” said the judge.
• David Joseph Camplair reappears Jan. 10 to enter a plea. He is charged with assault and two counts of breaching conditions.
• Kristopher Wright is set to appear Jan. 24 to enter a plea. He is charged with failing to appear in court.
• Bradley Amos Erickson reappears Jan. 24 to enter a plea and elect how he wants to be tried. He is charged with break and enter with intent, disguised with intent, theft under $5,000 and breach of probation. Crown Shawn Frank told the court the incident occurred Nov. 26 when he entered a gas station in Alix.
• Zachary Joseph Decaire reappears Jan. 10. He is charged with assault and two counts of breach of conditions.
• Thomas Joseph Anonson is charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. The case was adjourned.
