The Stettler RCMP has laid drug trafficking charges against three males from the community following a “lengthy investigation.”

RCMP officers, with assistance from the Red Deer Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) and undercover officers, investigated over several months and made several drug purchases.

The evidence the officers were able to collect was enough to secure a search warrant, which was executed and resulted in a “sizeable amount of illicit drugs being seized.”

Drugs seized include crystal meth, fentanyl and cocaine.

Criminal charges have been laid against Jesse MacDonald, 34, Chase Currier, 32, and Stephen Chittick, 28, all off Stettler.

Charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime, and resisting arrest.

Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, the three were released pending a Feb. 22 court date at the Court of Justice in Stettler.
