Extreme winter weather has Wolf Creek Public Schools announcing no school for Tuesday.

“The extreme forecast and environment Canada warnings, there will be no buses in Wolf Creek for Tuesday, Feb. 5,” states the release.

“Schools will remain closed for students,” it adds.

Environment Canada issued a warning for the area as well.

With temperatures dropping in the cold negatives, the wind chill factor will make it feel like minus 40 to minus 50 degrees C.

“Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill,” states Environment Canada.
