Aug. 4, 1929 – July 17, 2017
Blanche Schrauwen, formerly of Bashaw, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the age of 87, at the Harmony Care Home in Red Deer. She is lovingly remembered by her children Deanna (Russell) Schultz, Judy Heidt, and George (Sharon) Schrauwen; daughter-in-law Denise Schrauwen; her sister Megan (Alf) Perry and sister-in-law Jill Schrauwen of Kamloops, BC as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her precious 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Peter Schrauwen, her sons Stanley and Arthur, and her son-in-law Ray Heidt. We could stand up all day and tell you about our mother but she wouldn’t like that because she was too humble. She always worked hard, loved her family, never complained, and was there when we needed her. That was our Mother and we will miss her as long as we live. We are happy she is with her love, Pete again. A Funeral Service was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 with the Interment Service following in the family plot at the Bashaw Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Renee and Andrea and staff at Harmony Care Home for the excellent care given to our Mother and our Father at his time there too. If friends or family so desire, memorial tributes would be appreciated to the Bashaw Cemetery Fund. To express condolences to Blanche’s family, please visit www.womboldfuneralhomes.com.
