In loving memory ~
We are sad to announce that Wayne left us Sunday evening after several months of illness. He passed peacefully.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents Eldon and Phurn Kinsella; brothers Barry, Glenn, John, and his infant sister Mary.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary (nee McFadden); his daughter Joanne (Mark), and his son Colin (Shauna); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom will miss him deeply.
Wayne graduated from Carleton University in 1960 as a Civil Engineer. He worked his entire career with Canada's Department of Public Works where his job took him to several posts across Canada: Hay River, Yellowknife, Fort Simpson, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Winnipeg.
Wayne had a passion for nature: bird watching, geologic concerns, archeological digs, and various environmental issues. He had many interests including gardening, stamp collecting, volunteering, and yearly bird counts.
Wayne was constantly serving his community through volunteer work in minor hockey, equestrian events, the Elks, the Majestic Theatre, the Buffalo Lake Naturalists, and the Ellis Bird Farm. We always could rely on Wayne.
A family Graveside Burial Service was held on Thursday, August 17, at the Bashaw Cemetery. The Funeral Service followed at 11:00 a.m. at the Bashaw United Church, followed by a luncheon at the Majestic Theatre.
Donations may be made to Nature Conservancy Canada, the Ellis Bird Farm, or Bashaw Nature Trails.
