PHOTOS: Bashaw wows again with Hometown Days

Festival held on Main Street Aug. 20 and 21.

Hometown Days surely didn’t disappoint, with two days of activities for those both young and old, held on Aug. 20 and 21. Festivities included farmers markets at Heritage Park, and a youth and children street dance followed by a street dance for those 15 and up and fireworks on Friday, to a pancake breakfast hosted by Bashaw Community Church, a parade, carnival-style games, bouncy castles, face painting, pony rides and a dunk tank on Saturday, and more. Pictured here Charmaine Hagel, a volunteer with the church, flips pancakes. (Photos by Emily Jaycox/Bashaw Star)

Beautiful paintings were on display during Art in the Yard, at the Kinsella home, featuring art from the Bashaw Art Club and others.

Cindy Hunter from the Bashaw Library rides a bike in the parade dressed as popular Dr. Seuss character The Cat in The Hat.

Tracy McLean, left, and Andrea King give several aerial acrobat performances on Saturday, on both the lyra hoop and aerial silks, while suspended from a picker truck.

The Pond family serves guests during the garden party at the Meeting Place Coffee Roasters. Hats and dresses were recommended for the occasion.

L-R: Sheila Sande, Cindy Delamarter Fredd, Debbie Babcock and Samantha Babcock, one-and-a-half years old, enjoy the garden party.

A live violinist played during the garden party, making the event very elegant indeed.

Victory Acres Equestrian Services provided free pony rides on Saturday.

Tracy Fontaine of Wackadoodle Designs expertly painted all kinds of creations to the delight of many children throughout the day.
