It’s been a good bunch of years for the Bashaw Light Horse Club, however, the group has decided to dissolve.

They held a special one-day horse skills training event Feb. 23 in Donalda with famed horse trainer Kade Mills giving the members a last hoorah and training event.

Club member Laura Talbot said they took fundraised money from over the years to offer the members a deep discount on the day while still being able to pay for Mills.

“He’s just a phenomenal horse trainer of all levels,” said Talbot of Mills’s experience.

She thanked the many supporters of the club for their support over the years.

“It’s been a wonderful couple of years that we’ve done this,” said Laura.

Members have many opportunities to access other horse clubs such as in Ponoka, Tees and Donalda with the latter showing some real promise. “They’ve really stepped up the amount of horse activities,” explained Talbot of Donalda’s program.

She said that every time they’ve had Mills out, everyone has learned something new.
