The Bashaw Curling Club’s annual Farmers Bonspiel was held from Jan. 2 to 8, with 24 teams competing for cash prizes totalling $3,500.
Supper was provided each day to all curlers, coming from the surrounding communities of New Norway, Donalda, Forestburg, Rosalind, Erskine and Stettler.
There were door prize draws and a live auction as well, raising funds that are vital to the operation of the club.
The event winners were:
“A” event: Derek Miller, Pat Miller, Chad Miller and Pride Benson.
“B” event: Jamie Kobi, Ed Cameron, Neil Morrow and Arthur Vallido.
“C” event: Jeff Northey, Tim Jones, Al Oberg and Wayne Heck.
Our remaining bonspiels this year are: Mixed Bonspiel Feb. 21 to 25, and Combined Bonspiel March 5 to 11 (men’s and ladies bonspiels will run at the same time).
