The Bashaw Curling Club hit the ice last week with its men’s and women’s bonspiels

Double Slides - A total of 25 rinks hit the pebbled surface at the Bashaw Curling Club to create some history. The club ran it’s men’s and women’s bonspiels at the same time, running from Mar. 17 to 23 with 12 on the men side and 13 on the women side. Another interesting fact is that each draw, until the finals, featured at least two games from one side playing alongside one game from the other. In the end, the women’s champions were Daylon Rairdon (A-event), Lois Well (B-event) and Cathy Whitehouse (C-event), while the men’s event champions included Danny Brown (A-event), Stan Carlson (B-event) and Mike Mueller (C-event).
